Meet the Founder.

The Standard Institute was built from experience, leadership, and a deep belief that young men rise when expectations are clear and accountability is steady.

    Founder + Director
    The Standard Institute

Mentorship Program for Young Men in Dallas–Fort Worth

  • A Father First

    Terrance Watson is a father.

His commitment to The Standard Institute is rooted not only in professional leadership, but in the responsibility of raising young men in today’s world.

He understands firsthand the tension parents feel — wanting to give freedom while knowing structure must come first.

The Standard Institute was created from a belief:

Too many young men enter adulthood intelligent but unprepared.

Not because they lack potential. But because they lack structure.

  • Real-World Executive Experience

Terrance serves in senior leadership at Innovate Public Schools, where he oversees operations, execution systems, and organizational strategy.

    His work requires:

    Accountability at scale

    Clear standards

    Long-term planning

    Measurable outcomes

The principles taught inside the Fellowship are not abstract — they are practiced daily in professional leadership.

  • Experience in Structured Environments

Terrance has worked directly with teenage boys in structured, high-accountability settings, including time serving at Resolution Ranch.

In environments where behavior, discipline, and decision-making carry real consequences, he saw clearly:

Young men do not rise from comfort.
    They rise from structure.

He has also completed foster parent training, deepening his understanding of adolescent development, trauma awareness, and the importance of consistent standards in a young person’s growth.

  • YMHFA Certified

Terrance holds a mental health–focused Life Path certification, equipping him with tools to guide young people through:

    Identity formation

    Personal responsibility

    Emotional awareness

    Goal alignment

The Standard Fellowship is not therapy and does not provide clinical services.

However, it is informed by an understanding of adolescent development and healthy mentorship boundaries.
